What makes us a Specialist in Historical Buildings?

Good question! Historic buildings have special needs, all of which must be fully considered at design stage to ensure that, not only are any additions to the heating system in sympathy with the style of building, but that there is the facility to boost the heat when necessary in particular areas of the building as and when required, efficiently and economically.

These buildings may encompass large spaces, with high ceilings and a stone fabric that will absorb a considerable amount of heat. In some parts heat may not be required; in others perhaps a constant ambient temperature to preserve artefacts or provide the optimum temperature for performance of a church organ. This can be provided via a zoned system, with each zone having its own individual controls. Quite often, underfloor heating can provide an ideal solution, but in many instances this is not feasible.

Installations are carried out with no hot works (soldering or heat guns), so copper press fittings or screwed steel joints are used. Special care is required to preserve the fabric of the building as well as delicate furnishings and precious objects within.

We have extensive experience in this type of project, whether large or small and we also offer a bespoke maintenance service. Our operating area is wide-ranging, and includes Wiltshire, Hampshire, Berkshire, Gloucestershire, The Cotswolds, and London.
