Underfloor Heating
Underfloor heating is a method of heating your property without the need for wall mounted radiators.
It comprises the installation of pipework installed in the floor, whether timber or solid, so that the whole floor becomes a heat emitter which therefore warms the space from the floor upwards.
Underfloor heating is ideally suited to renewable technology like heat pumps as it operates at a lower water temperature. Whilst it is best installed as part of a new building or extension, there are also versions available whereby it can be retro-fitted into existing rooms by using a low profile option.
Underfloor heating could also be the electric type which comprises an electric mat, usually installed below floor tiles, this is ideally suited for small Bathrooms where it would be difficult to install wet underfloor heating.
